Now what?
But you know they were having a great time until their incident....
ever been out, maybe 20-30 mi from home, and that dark sky rolls, and it like "ooo crap"
looks like they 're on a crest of a hill or mountain
they wearin cold weather gear, so maybe it just rolled in.
i live in the north east, and it can change from great to crap in less then an hour,
it did it this morning, woke up, a nice 69, sunny, now 62, cloudy
also, i take runs sometimes, leave 6-7 ish, with no plans to return home till its dark
my scoot does not have a radio, and not alot of chances of seeing a tv weather report
A story that ends with "we hit snow, and had to call a tow truck" just doesn't sound to fun.
One that continues on through conditions you wouldn't want to take a 4x4 through, with cold, fear, pain, etc... Now that's a story to tell!
What was bad, was in the middle of the great plains, there was NO WHERE to hide, and my helmet was the highest thing around for miles.
Funny part, we were about 70 mph, if leather jackets, gloves, helmets, and out of no where a fellow rider past us at at least 90. Jeans, Tshirt, no gloves.

We made it ok to a little diner. I trust he was local so made it where he was heading. Good times.
wow, you guys are all such perfect people that youve never got suprised by weather?
be real!
i've sat under many a bridge waitin for a storm to pass.
i guess when you only ride on sudays you can talk
take 2 week putt, your bound to get some nasty on you somewhere
they really deserve frostbite? man, that cubicle must be a nice world
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders

Ask any rider present at the Alaska State HOG Ralley of '05, held in Fairbanks AK!!!!
One HOT and SUNNY afternoon (Sat.), our group (12-16) bikes, headed north toward Chena Hot Springs. We were all havin' a great ride. (with all those H-D's, baggers, & cruisers, and only 2 riders brought their jackets[:-]) There we are 'bout 20 miles out, and here comes over the mountains, the nastiest clouds we've seen in a long while
. We pull over to evaluate, and decide, it's headed toward us, and we should probably turn back (someone's thinkin' in the group), so we do. Well the decision to turn back was a wee bit to late, we were taken over by the most horrific storm plelting us with 3/4 - 1" HAIL!![:'(]Did I say already the only 2 jackets were around, and most were only in t-shirt, one poor sucker had just his skin (he looked pretty cool when we left on the ride[8D]). We were forced to duck under somebody's porch (have no clue who's), glad it was there!! Called for our chase veh. to pick up pass. (I was a pass.) So before I hopped in the truck, I gave "skinny" my jacket
, as he is my "best friends" ol'man!! Within 15 min. the low roads were flooded 'bout 12-15" of water, and the guys got back to camp in H-D canoes!!!

Lesson learned, take jackets, and you can't predict the weather by the sky!![8D]
