Cool Trailers?

I have a question for the more educated rider than myself. I own a Great Dane that is about three year's old and would like to take him with me on the camping rides. I have been exploring the possibilities of making a trailer to tow him with me and my wife but truly do not know how much load my bike can handle. I own a 2002 Road King FLHRI with V&H slip on turn downs with open air cleaner and fuelpak programmer on the otherwise stock 88" motor. My wife and I combined weigh about 400 pounds. Was going to run a lightweight aluminum to try to minimize the weight of the trailer. Any thought's? The dog is at 143 pounds right now but is expected to hit 150-175.

Happy riding to all!

I have very mixed emotions about that idea.

Might look cute or make you feel good about the dane being with you but the BIGGER picture... I wouldn't do it.

If he gets to moveing around could he roll the trailer and he would eat all the road trash off the road. How about a side car with the seat out?

Planning on a low profile trailer so the center of gravity is low but never thought of a sidecar. Definately seems a bit safer and can keep a better eye on him.

If that picture in your avatar is you, then I would say you have more pressing concerns than how to pull your dog

If you call having fun more pressing concerns then I guess I do. Nothin like going for a halloween ride and watching people run over curbs because they are pointing and laughing! Love the freedom to be me
