Thank You Ironhorsepilot. I have riden the trike and can say it has plenty of power. it is not gutless. For the earlier post of the guy riding the 08 Lehman, It is not the same as Harley's by far. 08 had different gearing and 96". HD designed the chassis and while it has some resemblence to the Renegade, it is not. Steering is fluid, power and handling is good. Granted it is a trike an not my thing, but if you were in a position it is a nice choice. Each one of my Tech's that rode it felt the same. We have built several DFT's and have a customer with a Lehman and they are not the same. Lehman did not design or assemble the trike and simply put a HD warranty on it. Not the case. Lehman did assist with taking Harley's design to production and assemble rear ends and parts for it and some assembly in SD.

Beautiful trike. Bikes aren't cheap to begin with but it seems, from what I've seen, that the
price almost doubles simply by putting 2 wheels in the back? Local dealer has a black one
on their show room floor, beautiful trike, but the sticker is $30k and for that kind of money
I'd rather just buy a new car or truck.

Pensacolaharley, You know each to his own and that's the way it should be. But I think the price is extremely reasonable for a Trike. The UltraClassics are in the 20's and since this IS an UltraClassic the price difference just isn't that much but certainly not double. At any rate, it is priceless as far as I am concerned. Priceless for many reasons. You can't put a price on something that brings such joy, that is a tremendous marriage booster, as well as confidence booster as I can ride it anywhere that he goes and actually LOOK at the scenery. When my husband didn't squeal about the price and willingly forked it over, I knew I was loved a lot. And I know he is having as much fun watching me enjoy my ride as he does on his bike and THAT my friend is priceless. No car in the world could do that for my marriage!

The frame is built to be a trike and is not converted. Then it is shipped to Lehman in SD for the rear end. It has a steering damper which gets rid of the front end wobble and a raked triple tree. I have been on two wheels for 3 yrs and have had no problem with the change. Best thing I ever did and now I can go touring along side my hubby and not on the back!!! I don't make a good back seat "driver".
I was wondering about that, my wife is only 4'11" and a buck ten soaking wet. Did you have to do any mods for the trike to fit you? She loves the idea of getting her own bike but the medical conditions have kept her a passenger. This would give her the freedom to ride her own. Thanks for the information.

tbrown2, no mods so far. Want to do something with the clutch to bring it closer. Absolutely need the reverse as I can't touch the ground! Also, I use the front shifter only because it is too far for me to reach the back comfortably, although I can do it. I was really surprised that the Ultra Classic handle bars were so easy for me to reach, as I had a problem with my 2 wheels in that catagory, and it was a smaller bike. I sat on my hubby's ultra and one at the dealership to get the feel of the reach and I knew that wouldn't be a problem. So I would suggest you take her to a dealer and let her sit on one. It doesn't have to be the trike, they are the same up front.

Thanks, just need to take her to the garage, lol. We own an ultra now. She, like you it sounds, just wants her own machine. She is getting tired of looking at the back of my helmet. Thanks for the insight.

Post Tri Glide

Fab post, Ironhorse Pilot!
I, too, love love love my Tri-Glide! I love riding with my hubby and he loves me riding by him! He also loves it that I can haul his stuff in my tour-pack and trunk!!
I was going to get a bike, but have never ridden except as a passenger and he felt I would be safer on 3 wheels instead of 2.
He rides a CVO Dyna, so he was concerned that I wouldn't be able to keep up with him! Sooooooo, he had high-lift SE cams, SERT, SE A/C and Python slip-ons installed on mine as soon as I had 1000 miles on it! I thought it was just fine before, but now has even more power and he may have to keep up with me.

There's a 'thumbnail pic', rear, in his original post.
And here's the front.
Take it from someone who rides without a fender, YOU WANT FENDERS on one of these. Well, unless you are jus' too stubborn to change.
