Default Se 103" bb

I've been eying that kit up for a bit. The basic stage 1 kit is 679.00. No cams, or heads.

I found on line where I can buy the piston kit for the 103 for $175+ free shipping.

Would it be more cost effective to buy the pistons, then have the jugs bored? I could then create my own stage 2/3 with cams of my choice and headwork.

(please don't interject...you could do better with xxx kit from so and so.)

What y'all think? Is this a good idea based on saving some cash?

The cheapest way to go is purchasing the pistons, top end gasket set and send out your cylinders. Your talking like $400. I can PM you where I send my cylinders if you would like. Another alternate is to pick up a set of used cylinders off ebay $20-$30 bucks and send them out. Then sell yours and then there is no down time.

So then my thought process on this is spot on. The 103" cylinders (new) are $176. Would be nice to minimize downtime, especially with riding weather right around the corner.

I was actually contemplating using Woods Carbs to do the motor work. They're only like 6 hrs from me in Alabama. Would be easy to throw my bike in my truck and deliver it to them and they could do cams and porting on the heads. Waiting to hear back from them about pricing.
