i've always been a big fan of springer frontends. and i was at my local dealership asking about a set of chrome sliders for my 03 night train and the manager told me they just put a set on another bike and to come back and look at them. so i did and i noticed that they took the frontend off of an 05 springer to switch to the normal frontend. so i asked the manager about the old springer they had sitting there and called the guy and told me he would take $1000 for it (whole frontend, wheel, fender, springer, quick release windshield). so i'm wondering if anyone has any pictures of a springer on a night train. it sounds like a pretty good price to me........but i have to talk with my wife and i'm about 99.999999999% sure she will shoot down the idea since we are still paying for her grad school and have a child on the way. what are your guys ideas??? and any pics???
It's a great idea to put a springer on a Night Train, and it looks very cool!
There's some guy here at the forum who did this and the result is great; I'm sure he'll show up or somebody will post you the link to this guys Springer NightTrain.
And I'm sure $1000 for the whole setup is cheap, and I mean really cheap. Usually, the price is at least $2000 for a whole set up, incl. wheel, brake, etc...
In fact, last week, I just got all the parts together to do the swap on my 2007 fxstc.
Good luck, and please keep us posted about the progress!
I think it would look killer! If your wifey doesnt let you get it shoot me a pm because i would pick up a stock harley springer front end in a snap for that price.
Jeez, now I think I want a Springer on my Deuce. I wonder if it would work. Famous last words from Harley Accessories/Parts book "Does not fit FXTD"
Not so sure that would not work, snakeinthegrass; after all, the Deuce frame is the same as the other softails, and the Deuce front end does fit the other softails models, so the reserve should work too. I guess... so please don't shoot me if not
