Been riding 46 years with little problems, couple low speed lowsides on wet bricks, triumph pulled out in front of me slid under a car, BUT on Sept. 6 2003 I had a deer come out of a cornfield and I had no chanch, scooped it up on my front fender, never even rolled off the throttle, 4 broken ribs, bulged disk between L-5 and S-1 pinching my nerve going into leg, always in pain to this date and always will be..sewed on my broken wings with that one, by far the worst I have had. I also am a patch holder in C.O.B.B.
if you think it can't happen it can, but don't worry about it..if it bothers you then perhaps you need to stop rideing. Not being a smart-A$$ here.. it would be no fun to ride in fear..I hit the deer at 11;45 am rode the bike to the Harley shop 97 miles away, then went to hosp. was back on my other bike 3 weeks later...it truley isn't will you, it's just when..part of the rights of passage I guess..Man do I watch for deer now

No crash; 40 years. Thankful to God, and careful every day. Rain, shine, mostly above freezing on the road, snow on a dirt bike only, never ice. Never could do wheelies, and only been up to about 150.

Broken wing club member. Two broken arms and one collar bone, lots of road rash. Like someone said here you now trust no one. This was over twenty years ago and since then lots of near misses and a few run off the road scenarios. [:@]

Is there a badge out there that identifies you as a rider that survived a run in with a cager?

Not sure if anyone else has posted this but what I've always been told is there's two types of riders, those that have been down and those that are gonna go down. Never get to cocky and alway's remember it CAN happen to you. Ride Safe. Michael

At least 3 at speed , all 30+ years ago . First one , I was 16 years old and some gal in oncoming traffic made a left in front of me . Plowed into her VW Beetle at 25-30 mph , never even a chance to get on the brakes ! Bruises and roadrash for me , real lucky ! Second a couple of years later going to work in the rain , nearing yellow light at about 45 mph . Usually would have blasted through but figured since it was wet I would stop and stop I did as the front wheel ducked out on me , OUCH ! Lucky again , only slight road rash . Third time within a year of last boo boo , just broke in a brand new Honda 750 , told my passenger to hold on as were getting on the freeway , What a DUMBA__ ! Could not handle the curve and hit the cement divider curb at right arout 75 , front tire jumps curb under control , felt good until the rear wheel hit . The next thing you know were both sliding down the freeway on top of the bike , all seems semi ok till we hit a bump , dumping us off and all I saw was my bike doing flips down the road . God was watching over us that day , commute traffic at 5pm on a busy Bay Area freeway and not a car behind us for at least a couple of hundred yds . Bike ended up in the fast last and passengers in the middle lane , cars slowed/ stopped allowing me to push the bike to the side of road . Again very lucky , only roadrash and bruising , my passenger had roadrash about the size of a quarter . Honda 750 , 1 week old TOTALLED . Every part on bike was dented, broken , ripped or bent , case savers even bent back allowing the outer cases to be ground through - oil everywhere .

Rode for a couple more years without any major incedents and gave up riding after having my children . Started riding 2 years ago , kids grown and me, matured enough to not do myself in . Harleys are slow and I know it so no more hot rodding , just cruising ! Just looking and sounding good , trying to make it to real old age .

41, been riding since I was I was 9. Only crashed when I was 10. It was my fault. Front tire was very low on air & when I took the turn I just slipped out. Scratched the poop out of my right side. Other then that "knock on wood" clean since.

I've riden for 37 years and 400,000 miles and have never once even laid a bike down. "Knocking on wood"!!!!!
