Default What RPM Range ?

I ask my dealer after I had the 103 mod done what RPM range should I run in ? Told him I usually ran between the 2000 & 3200 range. He said I was lugging the engine and would do damage if i didn't stop. He said to keep it a min of 3000 RPM's . So what RPM do you usually run in ????????

Since we're on the subject of rev's... can any of you with a tach tell me what rpm's I'm turning at 80mph on an '08 touring with the six speed. Makes me crazy not having a tach. Just wondering and wanted to get a feel for the revs I'm doing. Thanks much.

Nothing wrong with the rpms you mentioned. After riding mine for 2 years the data log says I spend most of my time in the 2300-2500 rpm range light cruising and shifts in the 3-3500 range. It's a friggin stroker not a crotch rocket. With his advice, I'd never get out of 4 th gear in Canada.

No need to have a tach if you've been riding for any length of time, you'll know when your over or under reving. Never under 3000? Sounds like the dealer wants you to buy parts at twice the rate of everyone else. Sometimes your better off not listening to the dealer, they are only there to do one thing and that is sell ! Your engine will tell you what's the right rpm, the trick is to understand the language !

On my Dyna 6spd tranny, 80 mph is turning about 2950 RPM.
About the RPM's. Depends a good deal on how radical your cams are and the corresponding head work. On my build, the power just keeps right on building/pulling harder until my limiter kicks in around 6200+ RPM. The torque on mine really jumps above 3500 RPM.
