I wear them when it's colder (as in winter), and don't take them off until I'm done being out on the bike.

if its cold enough, i'll keep them on. If i'm not riding for a while, or indoors a while, i'll leave them in the saddle bag.

If it warms up enough to be comfortable in jean, I'll take them off at a convenient stop

I voted 50%. It's a weather thing and 50% of the time it doesn't worm up enough to take them off if I put them on to start with.

I voted 75% only because there was not a higher percentage. I wear them for warmth. when I stop for anything other than fuel or a soda, they come off.

When it's cold all day I'll keep them on unless we are stopped at a restaurant for a while so I don't start sweating in the restaurant then refreeze outside. On days when it starts out cool then warms up, I'll take them off during a pit stop. I also keep them in the saddlebag if there's a chance that it will cool down before we get home. I treat my chaps for what they are, a layer of leather much like my jacket or gloves, to keep me warm.

But I don't take them off everytime I walk into a store or everytime we stop even though I'm sure Dave doesn't mind watching me putting them on or taking them off.

Has anyone tried fleeced-lined jeans? I think Bass Pro Shop sells them.

I wear textile jacket and pants. I'm a wear them for protection kind of guy. I take them off when I get to where I'm going. I went to the National H.O.G. rally in Knoxville, TN in '07 and wore shorts underneath and brought flip flops to walk around in. Took the pants and jacket off when I got there. It was was in the 90's and people (not everyone) were walking around in full leathers!? Not sure why, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves nevertheless.

I wear mine only when it's cold. If I stop for longer than 20 minutes or so I take them off.
