The only bad part would be if they claim to be slashing prices, and they really are not. That would be an immediate loss of trust. Get the message out, maybe in questionable taste, but you'd better deliver or you'll find noone that believes you again. Slashing prices means selling at just above cost, waiving set-up charges, and hoping you make it up in service and parts.

In advertising it is all about recognition, good or bad as long as they remember you ant talk about you

Apparently the commercial started running this past Sunday.

If I were shopping for a new bike, that commercial would have no relevance. If the dealership is in the area, I would go there to look anyway. I would agree though, cheesy commercial. Not the approach I would take.

"More bikes than Illinois has crooked politicians"

I've worked in advertising (producing commercials specifically), and this one does work.

You are talking about it, and you will remember it. That's the main goal of any commercial.

It's a parody of the ol' car salesman comms.
And IT worked, we're all commenting on it.
In fact, it worked so good, someone decided to post it on an HD forum website, and expose it even more.
I'd say it's a go, even tho a bit 'cheesy' by most standards, nowadays.

I don't know, I think that I could give two craps about how they want customers to view their dealership. Bottom line is that I wouldn't give my best friend the money if I didn't like the price or product I was buying. I could easily give it to someone I see as a total idiot jackhole so long as I am happy with what I am going home with and the price I paid for it.

Yep...ya rarely even see used car commercials that cheezy anymore...but, I CAN remember 'em back in the day. Looked to me like they went WAY over the top so as to make it obvious they were pokin fun at 'em. Sittin here gettin a chuckle outta all the folks thinkin it "tarnishes" the biker image...have ya BEEN to Daytona?
