I have shopped with Ace's & Eight's for years and have seen good and bad. It shocks me that some people say what they say. I have always been pleased with the customer service and friendly atmosphere in the store. If they didn't have my part in stock they would find it for me. Larry went out of his way and pocket to make his customers feel at home. All the bike nights, expecially in the winter when he had free beer and pizza for anyone that showed up. Also the 10,000 people that show up for Jackel. No body complained then. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say to us and all of our friends from town and out of town. I hope it sells to someone who will enjoy the business and people as much as Larry and his staff. They are still there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
back in 2002, my friends was going to buy a new 03 ultra, and they wouldn;t sell him a bike because he wasn't from that area, so he went to ad farrows in columbus and bought one. that is where i got my bike. great dealership.
I just saw that Aces and Eights is having 2010 demo days in a couple of weeks. They also have new store hours posted. Anyone hear anything about whether or not they've been sold?
Just got back from the demo days. No bikes, 90% of the stock gone. No bikes to sell, no salesmen to sell them. I heard a rumor that the demo day was a prize that they had won from HD some time ago, and was costing them nothing.
The turnout was miserable. 1/3 of the bikes didn't even have anyone wanting to ride them.
I give them 2 weeks, a month at most. I don't even think a new owner will help - the pathetic attendance today shows they have clearly lost any customer base. I'm going to be buying a new bike within the next 3 months, but right now I wouldn't pay a deposit to them even if they offered me $2k off. Too risky.
they are re-opening as Powder Keg Harley.
we ha d a nice spirited discussion about the name in here somewhere recently.
Not sure when they are gonna be open again

We had nothing but great service from the salespeople to the service department. There were some problems when our bike arrived, but they made it right. Larry was a an extremely personable owner and he went out of his way to introduce us to his family and to the entire staff. The comment that they wouldn't sell a bike to someone because they didn't live in the area is hard to believe. We didn't live in the area and it was never a concern, they even offered to deliver the bike the 100 miles to our house at no charge. Larry's unexpected death affected many and we wish his wife and sons well. Hopefully the new owner at the newly renamed Powder Keg will give as good of service.
