Question Issues with Clutches Burning out

I have a 2008 FLHT w/ 12000 miles. I was riding in the mountais and my clutch burned out. Called HD and they said it was covered under warranty. Had it towed to the dealer and when they called me the next day, it was not covered under warranty. They claim my cable was too tight and caused it to burn out. They were the last ones to touch it. Needless to say, i had no choice but to replace it. After 2 1/2 weeks, 190 miles, it fried up again. Now i am being told that since it was 15 degrees out that it may have froze up and moisture could have gotten in the lines. Are these bike not to be road all year round? Or only in temps above freezing.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You must be new to a Harley.Adjusted properly the clutch is one of the least thought of regular maintainance items.

You should pursue this with HD higher ups. Sounds like your dealer is jacking you around.

Maybe you need to be a little more aggressive towards the dealership that sold you the bike and warranty. I for one would be very very persistent in making them honor the warranty.

First one I think would be on you.Since they replaced the plates and only 190 mi. later I would think should be on them.

Clutches burn for two reasons. Improper adjustment (something you can check using your owners manual) or improper use. The clutch should never be slipped. and with Harleys low end torque, you should never have to rev the engine to get it going. now as far as the clutch freezing? Huh? there is oil in the primary, enough to keep any moisture from being a problem. I have never heard of a clutch freezing. If it could freeze, you would know when you pulled the clutch in and tried to put it in gear, the plates and discs would not separate.

Let me get this straight.
First the dealer claimed:
"my cable was too tight and caused it to burn out."
So after they replaced the clutch 190 miles ago, now they are telling you:
"that since it was 15 degrees out that it may have froze up and moisture could have gotten in the lines.

Moisture got in WHAT lines?
They said the CABLE was too tight the first time!!
You don't have a hydraulic clutch.
Sound like you are being taken for a ride.
