14. Mind the gap.
Remember Drivers Ed? One seconds worth of distance per 10 mph is the old rule of thumb. Better still, scan the next 12 seconds ahead for potential trouble.
Noble goal, but a 6 or 7 second gap only works on relatively empty roads. For interstates through urban areas, anything over 3 seconds invites other vehicles to lane change into your gap, often just before the brake check.

Defend your lane & your space. Ride where they can see you, and in such a way that they don't crowd you.

Only fault I see is #19 to Cover your front brake Always...That is against what MSF teaches, as well as all the advanced classes I have taken. They all say DO NOT COVER...because you lose some control of your sterring,and throttle.

Otherwise a very good post with timely reminders..
