Who needs anything for self defense when you have a cell phone, Just think, if you need help right this second the police are only 5 or 10 minutes away. You can reason with any thug, I am sure.

*Note for dense ones, the above was sarcasm.

I was going to say Eyes - but sarcasm would not be bad either. A gun on the bike just seems to defeat the purpose. On a long trip-the Glock 9mm would be tempting but then again.............

Do you wanna fight? then bring something to fight with.

Do you wanna just ride? bring a cell phone for emergencies.

Out here in Montana, a lot of the good riding is beyond cell phone range. So I just bring a smile and a handshake. It's worked for me so far.

A riding partner of mine use to carry his 9mm wherever he road untill one day a car was trying to run him off the interstate and he opened fire on the car. He hit the car but didn't hit anyone inside. He just got out after doing a 5 year prison sentence and can't carry a gun anymore either...

Remember when seconds count the cops are only minutes away. With that said I don't anticipate any trouble as I do not look for trouble. BUT, if trouble comes for me, out comes my Ruger LCP .380

Wonder how many saps there are in the ground right now who thought they were so bad that they woukd respond "my brain" . And hold on a minute mr. road rage wait before you run me off the road or charge out of your car at me at a red light let me dial 911 and wait with me for the police b4 you do anything. I agree guns are not an option in my area. Just thinking that some type of beat stick(collapsable nightstick) tazer, etc might be something to consider. Yeah it is good to be smart on the road (my brain) but you don't always get a choice to ignore or escape. be prepared.

Bet there's a whole lot more to that story......

Florida law states that if you have reasonable reason to believe your life is in danger or serious injury will occur, you have no duty to retreat. Sounds like a lawyer might have helped keep him out of jail and would have also had his legal fees paid based on Florida law.

Last thing I do is look for trouble, but I am well aware of how good our understaffed police are here and won't hesitate to eliminate the risk to myself or my family if someone choses us as a target.

NRA for life.

You really need to find another station to listen to when you're riding that sofa.
