Inexpensive = Sears

Small = Sears, Smaller than a good one.

Effective = Sears, if you don't care about stability once it's up in the air.

Read a post in another forum where a guy had his bike fall from a new style Sears lift....he threw it out to the curb.

i've have (still do) home made pipe lift for that quick up in the air, the one from sam's club AND the missus paid the tab on the last one http://www.superlifts.com/ml1000.html
for a b-day present. make the investment now and you'll save in the long run.
for us older guys between the chiropractor, massage therapist, and pain killers, $700 & change well spent.
hell even the lawnmower and snowblower go up for service.
you own a $10K+ mc don't you deserve the right tool for the job?

I have a Direct Lift. Best investment ever. With the add on Blackjack lift you can spin the tires for cleaning.

Just used my newly purchased Sears lift today and love it. I was torn on getting the aluminum one, but went with the cheaper one. Biggest advantage I see is that the aluminum one may be a little lower profile. I had to put the front wheel on a 2x4 in order to get the jack under my '88 Electra Glide Sport. Cleaned the whole bike, pulled off seat, saddlebags and side covers and had no issues with wobbling or even felt close to falling. I didn't even have it strapped and pulled it around the garage with no problems. Cost me $80. I'll save my money, take my time and do it carefully, rather than spend a bunch of extra money to buy some overpriced tool to make up for my ineptness. HD's got enough proprietary tools the way it is.

I have the Sam's Club Goodyear lift. It is great and at 69.95 a bargin. It makes moving my scoot around my small garage much easier and it is easy for one person to use. I highly recommend it.

I have the yellow one from sears , it works great , i had the red one from sams but after i lowered my bike it was hard to get under , the yellow one is lower and lighter, it is also made much better, the red one would seem unstable to me at times whereas the yellow one seems to be very stable, still be careful as always when you have your bike in the air

Thanks for all your responses. I just got back from Sears. I bought the yellow one. My bike is an 05 1200 C and the jack doesn't work. There's a front crossmember on the two arms of the jack that makes contact with the bike's side stand mount before the jack is far enough under the bike to securely get under both the right and left rails of the frame.

I'll take it back tomorrow. Are any of you aware of a jack that doesn't have the left and right rail connected by a crossmember in the very front of the jack? Without that, the two arms of the jack would go in plenty far enough on both the front and the rear of the bike's side stand.

I think you will find that for all lifts like that.

I have to stand my bike up before I can slide the lift all the way under it.
