Hopefully not getting hooked on a phishing story here (no offense but the 10 posts is the red flag) HOWEVER, I see both sides of the argument here -- yes, I do think you document but I don't think you treat it like congress and spend years 'building your case' -- you have a case. The old man is out of line and the first situation of him hassling my wife/girlfriend it's time to talk.

Nothing physical but a knock at the door, "Hey, old bastard you're out of line and if you talk to my girlfriend or walk in her house again I'm going to go to step two." Let him get indignant (because he will) and then mention that just as he can make threats about running bikers off the road... you don't make threats. There is NOTHING wrong with telling this old ***** that he's out of line, that you don't have to call the cops and that if he walks in your girlfriends house again, he will be either beaten or shot.

I don't subscribe to "crazy people don't respond to threats", if he's the tough guy behind your back -- he deserves what is coming. If you don't want to confront him on his property, put the bike in the driveway and rev it until he comes out. When he does, THEN walk over and say something.

Either way... 10 seconds of a threat is too long. Handle business if nothing else, for your girlfriend not to live in fear.

I have lived in my house eleven years........and only know one neighbor. She is an old christian/born again/go to church three times a week woman. She likes me.
The others......I couldn't tell you if they were married.
I do my thing. They wave once in awhile.
If someone threatons you....you have the same access to the law that he does.
Sounds like you have a ***** for a neighbor. (At least he talks to you....LOL)

I have a whack job of a neighbor. He went ballistic one Sunday morning (7:20) when I was leaving the house. Threatened to kill me.
I waited till I saw him - took a week after the threat, and I asked him "about that killing thing". Well, he went rabid again and threated to beat my bike with a bat, kill me, and otherwise make my life unpleasant. Funny thing is he has no issues with my neighbor with his TWO Harley's and his (my) buddies rolling in at 3:00 am. Now EVERYONE we know makes as much noise as possible. This nut case has polled the neighborhood about me, only to be told to mind his #$%ing business .

Keep in mind if he gets you on the defensive, anything you do is gonna' look retaliatory in the eyes of the police. You may need to remind the police that your GF doesn't have to live this way. Since it's you GF's home, she may need to make any & all the legal moves and because of her I'd definitely give the cops a chance if the ***** is as imbalanced as he sounds.

Does this specimen have any other enemies ?

You could always move to my neighborhood. I can't get out of it without several people wanting a ride or a wave. Of course with ten posts and most of those spent harley or harley dealer bashing I don't believe your bs story. I think we may have a troll on board.

Ok, this is not a phishing story. Just because I haven't posted here in awhile doesn't necessarily mean that this is untrue or not as I stated it. But, there will be doubters...

We live in Bethlehem, PA and yes, we are real people and members of our local HOG chapter where we have many friends. We are also starting a local club of hearing disabled/deaf bikers. I am a hearing abled person my girlfriend is not.

Tonight, I went to her house and many neighbors were out. I asked them if our bikes were a problem and everyone said that they thought the Harleys were cool. They then asked why am I asking this. I told them about King Charles and one couple said that they were warned about him being the mayor of the block. Most did not realize King Charles was harassing my GF or had any issues with the bikes. In fact, a few even commented on his son's jeep which has a glasspack muffler and is much louder than a Harley. So, the neighbors now know what he is like. The story about chasing a kid in a car is true, only I was told that he also threatened to throw the kid over an overpass onto the highway and it was not when he was a cop-it was a few years ago. The parents of the kid called the police and showed up at his door. He has boasted several times to several neighbors about that incident with the police. Obviously, nothing happened..either the kids parents declined to press charges or the good'ol boys let him off.

I (we) am not going to bash his skull in or approach him in any manner threatening him with violence. Tomorrow my GF and I are going to the police station so there is a record of the harassment and the threats should anything happen further. Chances are he will get a visit from the police and that will be the end of it. I spoke with a friend whom is a retired game warden and he suggested that I wait until spring/summer and call the game warden when the king starts shooting groundhogs since he has to be caught in the act or in posession of the carcasses. I came up with the idea of calling 911 and saying I heard shots in back of the school and soccer fields. Also mentioning the address (his) that I heard the shots around. The police would probably send the swat team since a school is involved.

Furthermore, every year we have a pig roast for our friends that is usually at a picnic grove. This year we are having it at her house and inviting all our HOG friends. Live music, food, and beverages...

By the way, how many posts does it take for someone to be deemed credible?

Let's see. You say you know a lawyer that does lemon law or warranty law stuff. You know a game warden to help out with groundhogs. Why don't you know a cop to help out with this problem? I still think the story is bogus.

She rides to and from work and for leisure. I have Rush slip-ons with 2" baffles on each and they are not loud, just a mellow sound...

The neighbor, King Charles, I call him that since he thinks he is king of the neighborhood, doesn't like motorcycles, esp. Harleys. He even boasts that if he sees a MC rider riding fast or doing something he doesn't like, he is going to "run him off the road and when he is laying there bleeding he is going to say: did that hurt? and then hit the accelerator and drive away"

He is a real anus and accosts my GF when I am not around. She is hearing impaired and he badgers her to get rid of the motorcycles or threatens when he hears them he is calling the police and having her arrested. HE NEVER approaches me, since he knows I will tell him where to go. It is to the point of harrassment and I am thinking of taking legal steps to ensure our rights. He also walks into her house (unlawful entry) and does not have permission to do so. This guy also shoots groundhogs in the housing development aiming towards a school, a soccer field and a nursing home in the background (which is only about 200' away). This is not a rural setting, BTW.

I learned yesterday that he used to be a cop about 10-15 years ago..and that says it all for me..a control freak spoiled little boy who gets his rocks off by telling everyone how he wants things and can't play nice with the other children...

ANyone else have similar problems?
No. The neighbors in my crappy old hood, have no problems with me or my bikes. Actually I am well thought of. When I ride my street I am easy on the throttle. Heck, if it is real early I roll it down the drive so as not to disturb Ithink you need to talk to the gentleman , in a civil respectful way, and see if you can come to terms. If not, inform him that he needs to address his issues to you and not the lady. If that does not help, then kick his a##. I know a lot of law enforcement officers. Some are great some are a##holes. Me and thea##holes stay clear, the rest I ride, shoot and/or drink with.
