Blue book for your Super Glide is about 8700 as a trade in. That may be where some of the problem is. If they gave you 10 on the trade, they wouldnt budge from MSRP. Just a thought.

It's all relative. Had a guy come to the shop with a bike and a trailer. After the new bike was bought, we took the discount and put the difference into the trailer rather than on the used trade-in.
Now we have a reasonably priced used bike and a fairly good trailer that will probably sit for a while since trailer season is over. Oh well.

they aren't going to offer you a great deal AND come off that interest rate. what you want to do is refinance your current bike through someone else at a lower rate.

they're making a killing off you with that rate. check with a credit union to see what kind of interest rate you can get.

and stop trading up so often. you make it seem like you are unsatisfiable. if you don't have good credit you don't get good toys. thats how the world worked before [they] started pushing crap loans through the system.

sorry to dump honesty in your lap but you gotta stop with the credit. leasing and audi. paying 23% on a motorcycle. you throw money away like nothing. i wouldn't loan you anything.

What you consider "fair" for your trade in won't make them money. They're a business. A new FXDC cost 12,999. They may be able to sell it for $11,000, otherwise the prospective buyer may as well buy a new one for $13K.

They need to make a profit off your bike. Buying it off of you for $10,000 and selling it for $11,000 isn't worth it. After the sales commission, the advertising, the lease on the building, payroll, electricity and a hundred other overhead items that it costs to keep a business going, they won't make much if they give you $10K.

Someone else will buy those new bikes on the showroom. You can bet on it, especially the touring models.

It is not a sellers market for used bikes. They have enough used bikes and there are plenty out there for sale by private owners. Used bike values have dropped to their lowest since I can remember.

Just keep the dyna for a few years and wait another day.

Trading bikes after just a year means you keep taking big hits. It is not unusual for someone to have buyer's remorse (wish they had bought a different bike to the one they did) but 4th bike in three years and willing to take loans at extortionate rates seems you have buyer's addicition where you just want something more when you don't have it and lose interest in it when you finally get it.

I am not judging you as I think most of us have a desire for the latest model or a different model but I really think you need to stop and think about the negatives of the situation. The very nature of your past relationship with your dealer is actually a good predictor of the way they have acted. They know what you are like and they see you as an easy touch, why offer you anything when they are pretty confident you will cave because you must have that new bike and will take whatever terms they want to offer to get it.

I don't mean any disrespect to you but like others have said why not keep your current bike, get your credit rating changed and show the dealer you can walk from a bad deal.

I'd run from that dealer, they don't appreciate your business.

Shlt credit gets shlt rates.Who the hell would sign up for over 20% interest? You gotta have the worst credit in the world.Re-establishing good credit takes more than a couple early payments. You will have to show a pay pattern history that is flawless for at least a year.Good luck.

I guess everyone has their own thing...

But trading often only gets you deeper in the hole my friend...

I just closed a credit card because they told me they were going up on the interest rates... that was after 4 years of outstanding payment history...

I got 5 and 3/4 percent on my last bike... Harley offered me a 11 percent loan... Of course I told them where they could put that rate...

If you've got to have the latest and greatest... then your going to have to pay for it... so don't complain... just go deeper in debt or open your wallet...

??? 23%??? shoot.... my credit cards don't charge THAT much.....
No matter what.... trading a 2008, for a 2009 will cause you to take a serious HIT... others have said it, and there's no point piling on.... keep what you've got, and get your credit scores in line.

On the other hand... maybe HD, OUGHTA go the way of the car makers, and begin a leasing program.....(but in all fairness you take a serious hit when leasing to MY way of thinking)
