I just picked up a large rail mount for my Garmin Legend E-Trex HCx. Runs on AA batteries, very rugged and water resistant upto 3 meters. It does have a smaller screen and is designed for hand held use you can get the software to use on the street for turn by turn navigation. Works great for the bike and on the trail.
The 2610 was a great unit if you already have one, I did 4 years back and just loved it, it was my first good GPS.
But I wouldn't recommend spend too much on one these days, for about $100 you may want to consider the newer Nuvi unit's. They have much better chip sets (faster sat acquisistion & routing), more memory standard, a smaller footprint with a larger screen, and have the latest map updates.
I just picked up a 260 for $99 after rebate, I see the 205 all the time in the 100-120 range, this is for a new unit with a warranty. The down side they are not waterproof, where the 2610 was.
The now discontinued Garmin 2610 is still a great GPS. It is waterproof and doesn't run off of a hard drive which is affected by vibration. It can still be found for sale on the internet for $100 or so. I've used mine for years and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble. you can get brackets and wiring for it from cyclegadgets.com

Just my thoughts
I have a 550 on my Street Glide and trucked it to Daytona, so I used my ol' 2610 driving there, the Keys and Jupiter after bike week and it is a trooper. The out dated mapping did get a little confused on the Beltway coming home, but I still love it.
The tracking only was good for a couple of hundred miles, but it will do 99% of the time.
I'm looking at the Nuvi 550 (not the Zumo). It is waterproof and ruggedized, listed as "motorcycle friendly", but only $299. It lacks all of the bluetooth bells and whistles that the Zumo has, but I'm not going to use those anyway. It also has a removable battery, which I like. I'd rather have an extra battery than hard wire my gps in, since I'll only use it for long trips.
I got a Zumo 450...great deal on one now that they're discontinued. I won't use the BT/XM or TTS of the 550...at least not for $300+ more than I paid for my 450.
I have an 8Gb SD card with the max of 1000 mp3's in it, along with a bunch of poi files (50k+) including speed cameras, traps and red light cameras.
Its nice to listen to my music while riding, and it will chime in when I approach a red light camera, speed trap, or if I'm routing somewhere it will tell me where to turn. I can spend the day getting as backasswards lost as possible, and if I don't feel like finding my way home just one button and it tells me the way. If I get hungry I can simply select the kind of food I want and get a selection of restaurants to go to....when I'm low on fuel just tap a little fuel icon and it takes me to the nearest gas station.
Pretty cool little device. Zumo on the bike and Nuvi in the car.
