Personaly I had a situation very similar except I walked and went to another dealer. And I am sorry I did. I should have waited. They got the sale and forgot who I was thereafter. Then I felt like ***** everytime I went to the dealer I liked.
If you like the dealership stay with them and speak with the manager or owner. Treat them like you would like to be treat and you will be suprised.
Just relax man. You'll drive yourself crazy with all this. I had a Sept 29 ship date and they called the day before and said it's almost ready..when do you want to pick it up? The 09 Ultra Classic is worth waiting for. Just relax a day or three. It will be here.
Relax, have a cold one, and sit down. First you've got a good deal going. Second, you know the dealer has your bike on order, and you don't want to go through this crap again. Third, just roll on in to the dealer, sit down with the MGR, and explain to him you really need to know the correct status of your bike. Fourth, he might be getting jerked around from the MOCO, and not be able to have the status to give you. Fifth, that might be the reason he hasn't called. Chill out, it's all good Bro, and tomorrow when you have that little face to face you're going to come back here happy as a pig in Chit, and give us the good news. Now off you go, you're going to need a good nights sleep.
in response to all the responses...thanks! i just hear the horror stories of bikes taking 2-3 months to get in after the expected ship date. anyways, i see the general feeling is just wait it out. i know its only a couple days past the anticipated ship date i guess i just get irritated over the lack of a phone call back...which has happened numerous times with this dealer. it makes it hard to plan april rides and on and on...too many buddies wanting to ride!!!
anyways...i have been cool with them. infact, me and a buddy usually go up there and hang out about once a week and have a pretty good relationship with each of them there. i really like that. i dont want to ruin anything there cuz its like my home base kinda. i'd have to take one of their patches off my chaps if i quit going there
and im chillin now with a cig and a glass of my girlfriend's wine (cuz im outta beer)
im sure u guys are right if u've been in my shoes. and yes i'll keep the economy in mind and the fact that the moco may be running behind in returning their calls and stuff.
who knows...i could get a call that the dang thing is here tomorrow.
When I ordered my 2006 Peace Officer RK it took a little over 3 months to come in. With the reduced production this year who knows.
My suggestion is like the others, go in and talk to the owner and/or manager and see if they can get you some straight info.
Don't give up yet. You want the bike your ordered. Even though the Peace Officer edition is nothing special as far as equipment it IS special to us who are or have been in the profession.
Like some has said sit back and relax it will get there. I have read somewhere that they are taking a bit longer on there deliveries do to the cut back in sales. When I ordered mine I actualy got it early but that was last year.
Congrats on the bike I have the Shrine Bike paid 18750 for mine set up like yours with the security and abs breaks.
I ordered mine in October. It was scheduled for delivery in late January. Jan came and went. It showed up at the dealer, in the crate on February4, unknown to the sales manager who chewcked the computer and fielded my calls almost daily. Give em a break, they don't know any more than the MOCO will let em. Mine on the other hand, was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!
I agree with others here... just relax and enjoy the wait. It'll be here before you know it and you'll be out there with the wind in your face and smiling like the Cheshire cat!
You sound like me... waiting patiently is not on my agenda. But try to cause you'll be the benefactor in the end.
I would have a sit down talk with the sale manager. Even if there are delays at the factory there is no excuse for not returning calls with good or bad news.
The POSE is slipped into the assembly line run to change up the paint and tank medalions. At least it's not as bad as years past when they only did them twice a year.
With HD in slowed production approaching the main riding season they are probably frustrated themselves. They don't get full pay until it's delivered.
Again, no excuse for poor communications!
Check out the pics in my album. I have the solid blue POSE. I just brought her home last Friday. SWEET!!!
