Now you guy's have me thinking about adding a 95 inch Stage-I to the Ultra Classic before even riding it. Breaking in a new bike as far as I'm concearned is VERY important! My question is, do I take delievery of the bike, ride it and break it in and see how it does, then make the decission? Or should I just go for it at time of order? My next questions is, I'm machanically inclined, but never gone this far into an engine. Can a guy do this himself on his weekend? Any special tools required? Or is it best to have HD do the work? TIA
Depends on how "machanically inclined" you are . I'm a certifed mechanic for me it would be no problem to do this on a saturday assuming I had all the parts i needed but you still need to have the bike remapped for the bigger displacement, pipes, and better flowing air filter.
Buy the bike, ride it and get used to it first. You may choose to spend your money on comfort items first. Like seats, grips, windshield, radio upgrades etc etc. I am all for power, but every time I have built something I have over done it. I usually like what I have done for awhile, then I kick myself for being a hypnotized by horsepower! I can't believe I just said that, but the older I get the less I want to burn the tires off of everything I have.

Remapped??? That's a new term for me! Just with the few post, I have decided to pass on the added cubes and just enjoy it as is. I can always add cubes at a lter time. Thanks guy's!!!
Remapped=The engine controller needs to be reprogrammed No big deal you just need to hook your bike up to a computer with the software and correct parameters for your new modifactions.
It depends on whether or not you want to finance it into the new bike purchase or pay later another way. I responded to the other thread. Rent one for a couple days, then you will know.
