Hey guys im gunna diy repaint my front and back fenders. Gunna do a high black gloss. What are some really good paints and clears I should do this with? looking for something not outa a can, I can shoot it myself.
LOL. Good thing i had google safe search on with that link....
I was meaning specifically like brands guys . I might wanna do some other stuff and colors so i just wanna get an idea of realy good brands to look up.
I haven't painted in a while, but I always liked either PPG or Dupont. Acrylic urethane is user friendly and has a high gloss straight from the can or you can color sand and buff like a laquer for show gloss. They make various hardness so I would talk with your local jobber about what clear to use for your needs. I thought PPG was easier to spray but Dupont produced better gloss and less orange peel.
All paint is gonna come in a can. PPG & DuPont used to be the top two. DuPont has pretty much ignored their automotive paint division for years, so, they're not the best choice these days. PPG, Sherwin-Williams, Sikkens... they all make good, quality, products.
