Zien is a politician from Wisconsin. In 2003 he did an interview and the bike, a 1991 FXR only had a reported 580,000 on it so he claims to have done the remaining 420,000 in the last 6 years. He claims to have made the 1,000,000 miles in 18 years. This means for the first 12 years he was averaging 48,333 miles annually however, in 2003 he must have really got a wild hair up his butt because he would have to average 70,000 miles annually to do it. Big leap up now isn't it. No doubt this is big publicity but I smell a huge fish story here.

I found some info on it. Thsi guy does soem serious riding and is a state rep. I would rather the state rep do his job than spend that many miles on the road...with that said, wow! what a feat? Harley should give this guy the bike of his choice from corporate and put him in some ads...I would love to know what maintainance he had to do to get there...

I find it interesting that if you look close at the speedo in the video, there is no needle on the face! I realize that the odometer can still function without the needle, but it looks fishy to me. It would be more credible to me if I saw a fully functional speedometer.

I live in Minnesota. How much riding can a person do with the snow on the ground living in Wisconsin? Unless he is retired and can go where the snowbirds go and get that many miles on.

The speedo is probably the only original part left on the bike!

There are some serious questions raised in the dialogue above, but if he did do this, more power to him... That's quite an achievement. My only fear is that he's a politician. And we all know about politicians. I went back and looked at the video again, and stopped it to record the mileage. This is a little hard to believe. From 00-01 100,000 miles, from 01-02-15 months, another 100,000 miles, then 13 months to do the next 100,000 and the 23 months to do the next 100,000, and finally 9 months to do another 100,000 miles... That's an average of 11,111 a month for 9 straight months, or 370.37 miles every day, 7 days a week, for 9 months. Pretty darn incredible. He's got stones!
