Default im with you

i love my old shovelhead. is it the same ride as my 07 ultra....hell no. in 25 years together, shes never left me stranded ( well...once) with a problem i could'nt fix pretty quick, with not much more than a pair of plyers, and a scewdriver. my tool pouch is as big around as my thigh. do i need all that? hopefully not- but i got 'em. always be prepaired. do your tweekin before you leave. know your machine. my shovel and i have been all over the place. but not at 75-80mph. more like 55-65. when i ride my ultra, it's almost effortless, nothing like my 78, i.e. you better be hangin on. but i have to admit, i ride the newer one alot more nowadays, cause ive gotten SPOILED! yes! i admit it! im now yuppie scum, and could'nt be friggin happyer. no tool pouch-cell phone! flat tire? road side assistance. god forbid someone would stop and help you till you got up and going again. and hell, no carries tools anymore anyway....less the're ridin a shovel.....oh, and by the way gump, that smooie i used to seal my tranny was good old aircraft grade permatex..still dont leak. the ultra does one thing the shovel does'nt...haul my trailer !

My sig. pic is of me on my 78 FLH,when traded in it had 35000 hard miles(I-20 and I-30 for 4 years)I NEVER had any problems with it except a broken clutch cable one time, and I put a new chain on at 20000,and believe it or not it never leaked a drop of oil.I wish I still had it.

Shovels are great, but require a lot of patience.
