Default Laughlin River Run prices cut

I've been to the River Run quite a few times. NEVER have I found a room in Laughlin (not Bullhead City) for under $199 a night (thurs, fri, sat). Usually if you go thru the promotion company, you can get the 3 nights and some other junk for $599 (still works out to $200 a night).

Well I was just on the Colorado Belle's website and they say they have rooms for the River Run from $139 a night. In the past 10 years, I have never been able to get a room at this rate.

If anyone was thinking about going, you might try this place and get a lower than normal rate. I hadn't planned on going, but now I can get the time off and might consider it. The lower rate is more of an incentive.

Just thought I let you guys know. Even at $139 it's expensive considering during the week you can get a room there for $29 a night, and sometimes as low as $16.99 a night. But $60 a night discount is nothing to laugh at.

Atendance is down at rallys all over the country and I guess it's showing up this way...I didn't make it to Daytona this year, but friends who did told me that it was the first time they'd seen rooms actually available on the beach, and at "reasonable" rates compared to the past...

This week the Edgewater is $10/nite and Colorado Belle is only $11 ... prices go way up for River Run ... but go to Mesquite, NV, a bit up the road and the prices are still $37/nite. Better yet, go to Vegas and stay on Fremont for only $35/nite or on the strip for as little as $60/nite ... then just drive down for the day. For the extra $90/nite I can buy lots of crap at the River Run and still be in Vegas for the nite life.

It's basic economics - supply and demand, hence the "low" prices at other times and "high" prices during the River Run. It is how capitalism works; bailouts excluded.
