I went there to price a RKC in 2002. Same exact bike I bought elsewhere was priced $5000 higher. The salesman said yes it is higher but we have it. I told him so does everyone else and left.
That was the deal with me. Hannam's, who sells at MSRP, said it would take 6 months to a year to get a bike depending on the model. Mike's told me they could get me any bike I wanted within 2 weeks.
congrats on the new ride and sweet deal. they (mikes) used to have a kick *** internet radio station that was a hell of a site better than anything we had around here.
I haven't been there in 2 years, but all the times I stopped in to browse the bike prices were sky high. I'll have to check them out again, now that they're under new ownership.
Glad to hear they are under new ownership. I stopped in at the end of last year to take a look around and was shocked at the sticker prices. Sales woman told me they were an "offer based dealership." I told her I would give her 12 k for the Fat Bob they had listed at 19 k. She told me to be realistic. I told her she was the one trying to sell me a bike for 4k over retail.

+1.
And take a vstar with me so I can get a steal like the op did. Still find it hard to believe he got an SG out the door for 16k and a 2000 vstar.

went in there last fall...prices were marked up like 5 grand over list...place was a joke..will never go back. dont know about the new owners but maybe they should check this thread out and show them what they are up against. hot looking girls i must say, but if i cant touch em..i dont want to look at them
I can't believe it myself especially since they originally offered me only $2K for the vtsar trade-in.Their sister store in Annapolis basically laughed at $17 and the trade-in for the same bike,go figure.I rode that vstar for 8 years and got half my money back because I wanted $4K for it which is fricken Schweet!
On another note someone said they are an "offer based dealership" which I would say is a good description of how they operate. So basically just make the offer you want and they will counter etc.

Two locations of Mike's were bought by Annapolis Harley. Smyrna and New Castle. I deal with Annapolis and they are going to make some changes at New Castle. Specifically the layout which sucks. As for pricing the old Mike's had the bikes and the attitude was we gotem and we jack the price. Annapolis is selling 60 bikes a month right now so don't expect under MSRP deals flowing from any of their locations. I think in time the service from the staff at Mike's will improve as the owner at Annapolis ifs first rate.
Had a bad experience with a salesman there and management didn't follow up to my satisfaction. After they received a nastygram from the MoCo they sent me the standard letter of apology and asked for a second chance to screw me over. Not even a $20 coupon to get me back in the store.
I've often wondered why it is a store will jack you around and then when you've bought somewhere else, ask you to give them another chance to earn your business? I believe if someone wants my business, they'll do what they can to earn it at first shot. If they can't meet the price I want to spend, then admit it and move on.
