I don't know what type you were looking at, in '00 a Buddy bought 2 new Millennium Ski-doo snowmobiles and they were all black and chrome (his Wife's FAVORITE 2 colors!!). You could order the chrome matching helmets and he did. They are 9 yrs old now and still look great no glare in the winter with the white snow and sun, they aren't metal so no rust... can't help you with heat but I would think they would reflect it and be cooler than a black one. Momma can always check her lipstick in your brain-bucket!!!
I have a Daytona chrome half helmet. It's no hotter than anything else. I think the chrome helmets are like light colored ones -- they increase visibility.
I have the same not dot helmet in chrome .. only problem is wife hates it (shines in her eyes she says and the chrome is releasing from the helmet oh well 10$ helmet for my 10$ head
