I installed mine last year, and now have approx 7000 miles on it trouble and worry free. It is installed on an 07 Roadking with true duals (V&H) Big sucker intake.
Cons I would say price. A bit expensive in relation to others but with no dino tuning the cost averages to be the same.
Pros. The system learns your style of driving and self adjusts. It adjusts to elevation temperature and load. I tuned mine in an afternoon with assistance from forum members (much reading) to find a map close to my build. After the map was installed the bike became better and better as I drove it. I do two up riding and its absolulty stunning on performance. Throttle responce is greatly enhanced from stock and the heat issue is GONE....No fried legs for me or passenger.
So would I recommend it HELL YEAH!!!!. Sweet system that you can leave alone, just ride it and forget about any of the dino BS that others experiance. By the way gas consumption is mid forties, on a super slab sixth gear all day running I managed 50 MPG. Yeah I was stunned as well, but it was no stop and go and cruise control all day.
Prior to installing the thundermax onmy 07 ultra the pinging insixth gear was unbearable, and the heat was so bad that I could not take a passenger. Actually burned my wifes leg through her jeans. After installing the T-max the pinging ceased and the heat went away. I was actually able to cruise at 55mph with no problem.
The T-max was easy to tune and actually I used a prepared map and only adjusted the idle. I bought mine from a forum member Shooter64 and his businessis Cateye Custom I think he is also a sponsor here. He was very helpful. Since I did not have any issues with the TG-max I did not have to actually contact the man.but I have heard that they are also very helpful. So I think you will be very pleased with the T-max.
I've had pretty good luck with my T-Max. It's been on my '07 Ultra for over 15,000 miles. I still have a minor ping issue under certain load conditions but it's much better than stock. I just need to take the time to tune it out (T-Max adjusts AFR's, but does not adjust timing, although YOU can make manual adjustments).
I recently did a cam swap and the T-Max dialed in beautifully within 100 miles or so, running great. I didn't even need to change the base map.
I got mine from shooter64 for a great price. Installation was straightforward and when I had a question one of the guys in his shop helped out. Still had a backfire issue and went back and forth with a tech from Zippers with several map changes and still didn't get it cleared up totally. This was in October and a couple of months ago, out of the blue, I got an email from Zippers asking how it was going. Told them there was no change since I hadn't ridden much and they asked me to bring it in to their shop so they could look it over and try to figure it out. Seems like there are similar issues with other bikes and they want to resolve it. I will bring it in within a month or so, but I was blown away with the follow up and concern with my satisfaction. I think they are a great company.
thanks for the feedback, did you have much interaction with the company and were they helpfull?
No I had no iteraction with the company as my install went smoothly once I did my homework. Since it is a control system for the bike I did my due dilligence and researched threads on this and other forums to determine the best fit and results. That being said I did not have to call Zippers but I am sure as other members here they would have assisted with no problem.

what has the average temp been on your bikes? is summer riding problematic or is it a nonissue.
Non issue and not problematic in 90+ degree weather. No pinging with the exception of the few tank fulls of bad gas, but once new gas was run through the pinging went away. I will say this though, if the gas is >10% ethinol pinging will happen on big hills with heavy load. But that also happens in my pick up. Should the world go with a greater percentage of ethinol than I would most likely have to change the mapping to accomidate and that is nothing more than a laptop (USB - USB ) hooking into the system and a download from the PC.
I've had mine installed for 5K now. Pros ifyou fabricate your own pipes and exhaust you can dial in for that and make manual tuning for the uncharted MODs. Cons, the USB with the new micorsoft software Vista. I am in the process of trying out my own version of 2 to 1 with T-Max I can do the tuning without any dyno time. the other Con was the prize.
