It's funny how some people just post words and have no idea what they are talking about.
There was just an article in one of the biker magazines which explains EXACTLY what has happened in regards to Myrtle Beach and Bike Week.
It's not the people of Myrtle Beach it's the MB city council members who don't want bikers. Many business have asked the MB city council to reconsider but they won't. At first MB City Council made the mistake of saying they didn't mind "white bike week" but they didn't want "black bike week". Of course this started many problems. So the city council decided they didn't want bike week at all. This is it in a nut shell.
BUT the surrounding areas, outside MB city limits welcome bike week and bikers. Because of MB city council, it seems many more bikers plan on attending on the principle alone. According to the article there are already some group planning ride throuh MB but not stopping to spend any money. Of course they all plan on obeying the new laws MB city council has put into place.
So if I could go, I would. I wouldn't spend a dime in the city limits but I would ride through many times just to make a pressence. then spend my money with the people who welcome all us bikers.

I'd go within a block of city limits..... but I'd make a point to turn around before City Limits... now... if you could get a few hundred bikers to do THAT all day..... heh heh heh.... but again... I steer clear of "Murder Beach"
The old blue hair club done gone and pissed off God. Hate to see it, nobody should loose their house. Don't think it will affect those idiots who are making the anti-bike laws anyway.
No more Myrtle Beach for me, either for bike week or family vacations. I hate it for all the places that want us, but I'm pissed.
