Looks great In my opinion!
Here is the pic of my buddys we ended up doing. We still havent painted them black yet, got side tracked since he bought a brand new softail.
Looks good. Is he going to do the soft tail pipes as well? I noticed some fray at the connection point near the rear cyl pipe. I started my wrap there and moved forward in hopes I don't get the fray but then again it's just part of the alure of wrap anyway. I think they will look great on that bike painted black. Actually that whole bike would look great in flat black with maybe some old school pin striping...thanx for the pic...

Thanks for the compliment. This is the first time i have tried to wrap an exhaust and I think it came out pretty well. I noticed the fraying as well and I found out the reason is that the clamps i bought were super hard to get snug and tight, so one came undone and started fraying. I have since put a new heavy duty clamp in that area but i think i will have to do a better job. lol.
I don't think my buddy is going to do his new softail, but i was debating doing my vance and hines big rad pipes on my bike from the heads to the end of the upper heat sheilds. Might look a bit different. You think it would look o.k. or would it not fit witht the rest of the bike?

After market pipes are so much easier to wrap. Can you post a close up pic of the pipes so we can take a look at them and give you our collective opinions?
I just pulled up a pic of the pipes from the V & H site and I woudl wrap them down to the 2 into 1 section leaving the chrome at the end and think it would look great. In addition IMHO the look will be cleaner than the bagger as the rear shield for the 2 into 1 will cover the end of the wrap.

I made a quick photoshop of what i am thinking. I agree leaving the ends chrome would look pretty sharp.

Pipes the way they are now
Exhaust wrap idea
Perfect. Thats exactly what I pictured and the good thing is if you don't like it, you can put the shields back on over the wrap or even take the wrap off but I think it will look great.
