I've heard this works, but I heard you need to try to find honey that was produced by bees as close as possible to where you live. Another thing to consider is allergy testing and then get the shots .
If you have a medical plan that covers the expense so much the better. I got shots in the late 60's/early 70's when I was still a kid and they didn't help much. Technology has changed so much that now they can dial right into the specific needs and produce a custom serum that kicks serious butt. I've been on the shots again for about 5 years now, and they've changed my life in the spring and fall, and let's face it... that's the best time to be out riding.

I do the local honey thing. I get it from a family owned meat market. I asked how local the honey was and the guy said his neighbor had bee hives in his backyard. That was about 1 mile from the grocery store. Pretty local.

Forget about the medicines. Find yourself an acupunturist. They can take care of allergies/hayfever/etc. in short order. I go to one regularly.

Go to an Ear,Nose and Throat doctor and get tested. It is a simple drawn blood test that they check for antibodies.

Then get on a treatment plan.

I had severe allergies for years before another medical issue resulted in me getting tested.

I do 3 self administered shots a week and a prescription anti histamine. My "quality of life" has improved dramaticly in the last year.

I had a doctor tell me I had been sick for so long, I didn't know what it was like to feel normal. He was absolutely right.

My regular dose of Allegra and an over the counter cold/allergy pill do the trick with me. Leave one out though and it's a disaster.
