I wiped out my 3 week old 2007 Electra Glide Classic. After 12 weeks of healing, I bought a 2002 Heritage. While my wife and I were waiting to pick up the bike, she saw the bells in the store. She bought it for me and I immediately installed it. I transferred it to my new Streetglide last October. I don't know if they work or not. I haven't had an accident since. But it gives my wife a little peace of mind.

I know of several instances of guys "hitting" something on the road at night, and on inspection the following day they see no damage what so ever, other than a missing bell. So is there something real about the bell or simply biker lore...?

My wife got me one for Christmas and I mounted it under my floorboard.
I've never actually heard it dingle.....

I saw a kick a$$ paint job not long ago on a bike that had all kinds of demons and gremlins air brushed on it and across the tank read "F*** the bell the demon rides with me".
I'm not a superstitious guy, but I do have a bell and I damn sure wouldn't taunt the demons like this guy did.
