If you purchase HD accy. and have them installed at the time of purchase, are they covered under warranty? The reason I ask, the guy before me had some of the flush mount gas caps installed when he bought it, and today I noticed some of the LED's on the fuel gauge aren't working. I'm getting ready to go in for 1K mi. service, and want them fixed while it's there. Any info? Thanks.
That's what they told me when I bought my bikes. If they install them at the time of purchase, it's covered under the 2 year warranty for anything that goes wrong.

I was told any HD parts installed at time of purchase were covered by the full HD 2 year warranty.

The answer is yes.
I had a heated seat put on my Ultra at the time of purchase. The seat split open on the HD logo branded into the seat, as if it were cut by a knife. Most likely due to being embossed too deeply at manufacturing.
Took the bike back to the dealers and they said "ripped seat isn't covered by warranty." I said this one is, because you guys put it on.
Dealer checked the computer took some pictures, then ordered a new seat, zero cost to me.
