thought of getting a night train in black denim but heard that the black denim paint will stain easily with oils from your hands. Is this true? Also being that it does not have a clear coat that it will scratch very easily and almost impossible to cover up with touch up paint even if you get a hold of some black denim paint? did the salesperson just tell me that because they only had a night train in vivid black in stock?

Who told you that black denim had NO clearcoat? It has a matte, or flat clear, just as durable as a gloss clear, without the shine.
Just turned over 10000 miles since I bought it beginning of june. easy to take care of, no stains, scratches like any other bike I've had, a bit more noticeable but what ever. I like it
Dawn dishwashing liquid. Cuts the grease/oils, looks great. I've only washed my bike a few times since 06 so what do I know :-) I do know this, the denim black doesn't LOOK as dirty when it is...at least to me. Forget washing it, hop on and ride it! You don't buy a denim black to win the "bike with the most chrome" catagory :-)
Dude your salesman has no earthly clue. The satin finish on the denim black is clear coat. I had a denim black cross bones and it was very easy to maintain. No it didn't show scratches near as much and was easy to wash. I would give anything to have another denim black bike. Tell you salesman to set the crack pipe down.
