Default Oil Filter

Anyone know the cross reference number for the HD oil filter for another brand. I'm changing oil tomorrow and forgot to get a K&N and the local dealer doesn't open until 10. I know there must another filter out there that I could get at an auto part store. Perhaps even Fram. An orange filter might look cool on the front of the bike.

Fram makes a chrome one as well, that is the one I use, I am tired of paying dealer prices. Get them at Wally world....I think the pn is 6065B if my mind serves me right...about $10

A little info on the OP's bike would be helpful. EVO (sportys & BT's) require a 30 micron filter. Twin Cams should be 5 or 10 micron. Using a K&N (10 micron) on an EVO can cause the filter to stay in bypass mode, same as having no filter.

Without knowing the model of the bike, ya can't xref the filter.

I use the chrome HD filter (made by Champion) and pay $8.50 from the dealer.

If ya read any of the reviews on tests done on filters, Fram is at the bottom of the barrel.

Thanks guys, Got the oil changed, used a Fram 6022.

I know it isn't quite as good as others but I think it will be fine for 3000 miles.

Now if I could Royal Purple 20/50 for less than $7/ Qt I'ld be set.
