Default pricing and advice question

I can basically spend about $19,000 on a new bike. I am really looking towards an 09 Rocker C or I would settle for an 08 Rocker C with under 100 miles (basically want something I can break in). The main question I have is when can I expect the price on the 09 to drop a couple thousand dollars.

I probably won't buy until around November because this is when I would assume the price would fall a little. Or I might wait until February so I can throw a couple more thousand down with my tax return.

Pros and cons of buying in November vs. waiting until February? (I live in Iowa so its cold both of those months)

Should I be looking towards another bike that would give me more bang for my buck? And is the Rocker C going to fit my 5'9", 190lb frame?

I do have about 4 years total riding experience, albeit on crotch rockets (600cc and 1000cc)

Sorry for the longwinded post.....thanks in advance.

While others he may really like the Rocker, I think you can get a better "all around" bike for less money. From what I've heard they are not the most comfortable bikes and definately not one you'll want a passenger on with the tiny/awkward seat. Have you looked at the fatbob or dyna line? They are cheaper so you could use the left over cash for accessories.

As for the price, you should be able to get at least $500 under MSRP on a 2009 now and maybe more by late July or early Aug as the 2010s will come out in July. With the discounts etc... on the 2009s I would go with that instead of a 2008 unless you find a great deal. If you get a cheaper model this won't matter so much with your budget.

Just remember it's a Harley and not an import so don't expect the price too come down a whole hell of allot on a leftover new bike. Harley's don't loose value like the imports do.

A buddy of mine wants the same bike. I have found 2-3 on Craigslist (08 with less than 3,000 miles). They are all asking about $16,500. I would look for a used one from a private seller and spend the rest of the money on upgrades, accys. Also good advice on the Fatbob, I have ridden one and it is about the best handling Harley I have ever ridden.
