I am NOT a Biker, I am a Motorcyclist. Big Difference!! Just cause I own and ride a motorcycle does not make me a biker. Maybe I'll ascend to the status of BIKER oneday, who knows. I've been a motorcyclist for the past 35 years.
Dude: relax........go have a cold one........I've seen some 1%ers at bike night

It's funny ... all this poser crap. People just LOVE to categorize OTHER people but HATE people categorizing them!

Some people think that anyone who rides a non-Harley is a poser or worse ... NOT even a biker.
Some people who think a person who rides only when it's nice weather for FUN is not a biker.
Some people think a Sportster is a GIRLS BIKE.
Some people think a person who has a good job, "normal" life style, (not a 1 percenter) and rides on the weekends is a poser.
Some people think the only REAL bikers ride OLD junk Harleys they've rebuilt 100 times, are a 1%ter, belong to a motorcycle GANG (not club) are truly DANGEROUS and probably have a criminal record. The whole OUTLAW image. (Those are often the people who try to make laws that take away biker's freedoms because they FEAR the biker.)

We all have our OWN opinions of what a BIKER is and a POSER is.

In MY opinion a biker is a person who loves to ride motorcycles ... period.
You can be a weekend biker, ride a rice burner biker, a Harley, be a cop or an outlaw ... doesn't matter. We all have the same passion, riding motorcycles. If you're on 2 wheels you're a biker and you're helping keep the sport alive.

I agree with all but the last line...

Even after a hard ride, the only sore muscle I might have is my ***. I don't think it qualifies as a sport, although I would be happy to call myself an athlete! Now I just need that athletic build. I'm sporting a bowlers build right now.

I thought poser bikers were the ones that dress up all in leather and ride wannebe harleys (IE Honda Shadows)

Disclaimer: I do not put anyone down for owning any motorcycle,,,,,, I just thank it's funny that there are so many wannebe harleys being made.

Well put. All this "Your a poser and I'm not" posting got me to thinking. We go out buy our Harleys and imediatly start to individualize them to be different. We can't be riding a bike that looks like Johns down the street. We have to be an individuale, one alone. But then we are going to sit around and talk about and poke fun at the one that are not like us. All these guys and gals ARE bikers reguardless of what they ride. Just ride.

Sanford

P.S. See how much different my bike is from yours?
