Default Almost bitten by a Tar Snake

I have been riding on the streets for over 32 years and this is the first time a tar snake has almost got me. I was going thru a county park, speed limit 20mph and that's what I was doing, making a left curve when I hit it and if my reflexes weren't as fast as they are I would of been down for the count. I got my left foot down just in time to kick myself back upright before the bike made ground contact. Not sure why it took 32+years for it to happen but I sure hope it's the last time. I'll be putting a heat wrap on my knee and sitting in front of the tv for the rest of the day.

Thank God you didn't go down. Thanx for the reminder of yet another thing to watch out for. Most times I worry about cagers, deer, bear, leftover gravel from winter and whatever else is out there trying to kill us...but I haven't thought much about tar snakes recently.

I was riding today with the OL and I was driving through some country road twisties and the road was full of tar fillers parallel to direction of travel. It was a cool 70 degrees so I was not too concerned, but I'm wondering at which temp these things get greasy. Or, are they unpredictable?

Nice looking scoot - I am glad you are OK. Thanks for posting.

Hold it, my emergency room nurse told me last month it's elevation & ICE 30 min on, 30 min. off for 48 hours then heat to help carry the white blood cells away.

Some day, just some day, some engineer that works for the city, county or state road commision will be a rider and figure or notice the hazards that are introduced by man and figure out a better fix.
