The nail painting bimbo who killed Anita Zaffke, was indicted on Wednesday, 9/16/09 for Reckless Homicide. She was originally cited for failure to reduce speed.

ME why is this limited to teh upper midwest? I think it would be more effective nationally. Think the Do You See Me Now name would be good. Black nail is good too but the old fogeys would not understand.

It's bullshit that she is only facing 5 years! She KILLED someone else by her own actions. She should go away for life! It pisses me off to no end to know that if I am run over on my bike, the other person will probably get only 5-10 years maybe.

I don't suppose it is. It's just where it got started due to Anita being killed here. Certainly, what happened to her happens all over the US on a regular basis. No matter what a group might be called, I sincerely hope bikers across the country rise up and make their voices heard in support of our fellow brothers and sisters whenever something like this happens.
... and, it's not just limited to bikers. People are killed every day - pedestrians, in cars & trucks, on bicycles and motorcycles - by ignorant people who feel driving is of secondary importance to whatever else it is they are doing in their car. They have little reason to concern themselves with potential consequences, because, when they *do* kill someone, they know they are likely to get off with a minor traffic violation, or nothing at all.
We have to eliminate the concept of an "accident". Perhaps if stiff fines and penalties were the norm, people would focus on driving.

Not Limited to Midwest
It's not limited to the Midwest. Just paint your nails. You'll be surprised how many conversations it starts, and how many people think about being more aware, whether it's about texting, nail polish, cleaning up a Taco Bell spill, or talking on a phone. Many people just don't think about it until they hear unawareness kills. You'll change lives by having those conversations.
