i wouldn't trade my streetglide for a springer, cvo or not. no way. it's nice to have a place to put rain gear, couple of cokes, clothes etc, and actually go somewhere rather than just going for those 100 mile weekend trips. take your time to decide. a bit of wisdom can save you tons of bucks by getting the right thing the first time. baggers rule, by the way. and the streetglide ain't the geezer glide by any means. they rock.
Am a Newb to HD and the question was for real. Spent a lot of time thinking it over and Street Glide was it, then I saw that cherry cvo springer. Almost bought it, but ended up with a Street Glide. Been metric since a kid racing motoX and was worried about the difference in performance compared to 1000cc+ metric's which I've the most experience with (and used up 8 of my 9 lives on). It is definately a HOG, but it is a different state of mind I'm still coming to terms with. Thanks to all for the advice!
Don't know if HD got it fixed, but the early SE 110's were having a lot of problem with the rear jug leaking oil, think it was a o-ring between bottom jug and lower case, just do some research and see if its oks now..
Just because it's a Screaming Eagle, doesn't equate to it being a CVO 110. Maybe it's a 103 in which case it's fine. If it's his first American V twin it would be a fine place to start. We all graduate to bagger eventually if we ride HOGS long enough. He has time.
