Went to the gym this morning, and some FKN A$$ broke into my locker and stole my wallet. Was able to call my credit card companies and he had only charged 4 monthly Marta tickets (Train system here in Atlanta). Had my military ID, both my Licenses (car & bike). Registration/Insurance, etc. I also had just gotten a $50 gift card from the local HD dealership (Killer Creek) and went in today and asked if they would replace it and they said sure. A great dealership. Hope I never find the A-Hol... may end up in jail...
Wow, that sucks! Around here theives are waiting for people to pull up and go into the gym, then they break in there cars and seal their radios, GPS, Ipods, purses, etc... Theves know people will be in there for at least 20min...nice window for them!
yeah, only this guy came into the gym, took the lock off of the locker next to mine and mine (took them both with him) and then took my wallet and took that with him too. Wouldn't have been as mad if he would have just taken the cash and cards, but took my wallet. Went to the marta station hoping he dumped it there, no luck there either.
Does the gym require a membership to enter? That should narrow the suspects some I would think. Thank goodness I train in a gym where I know everyone, this type of thing does not happen. Sorry for you trouble.
Yeah it was a Gold's gym. They said they have camera's but they are only for show. And yes you need a membership to enter, so if the person swiped his card then he had to have done it prior to me coming in this morning (unless he came in when they were away from the desk). Yeah sucks bad. I was there early in the morning so there wasn't that many people in the gym. I was too engrossed in squats to pay attention to someone walking into the locker room. I was only out of it for 20 minutes and it was enough time for him to cut 2 locks take my wallet get out and within 10 more had already made it 10 minutes down the road and charged my card twice. Was highly suspicious. There is a detective on the case now and I will be picking up a report to notify the credit agencies, but still sucks that I have to re-generate all my info. The hardest things I think are going to be the MSF cards I had in there. I need them to get on base with my bike. I will call and try to get new ones, just saying it sucks. The Marta station has cameras at the kiosks where you charge for your passes so they may be able to see if they can see who did it, maybe bounce it off of pics of guys that entered the gym that morning (if the person swiped his card).
You will be lucky to get a detective that is willing to put in that type of work over a stolen wallet. Luckily for me I guess I was kicked out of Golds around here a while ago for dropping a heavy deadlift and then telling the little pee-on that came over to tell me not to drop weights to f off and that I would listen to him the day he could pull his own body weight .
I can relate to the MSF card thing, every time I need base stickers I have to find it. This time I had it laminated and just keep it on the bike so I do not lose it. I would have no idea how to go about getting another copy of it. Good luck with all of this, I am sure it is a pain in the ***. Hell, the thought of having to go back and get a new CAC and base stickers makes me want to vomit.
