So this morning I woke up and told myself it was stupid to ride alone in a foreign country...I pulled over after about an hour and was trying to figure out where I was...
I do some work for a Dutch company, travel to the Netherlands several times per year. One thing I realized long ago is that it's actually hard to get really lost almost anywhere in western Europe. If you're not sure where you are, just keep riding and pretty soon you'll get to some recognizable feature -- often a national border -- that resets your mental GPS.
And I agree, there are some really great tiny twisty roads in the Netherlands!
An R6 gutless compared to a Sportster? Uhh...did you rev it past 4k rpms? That bike doesn't turn on until it hits about 6k rpm and pulls to about 12k rpms probably give or take.
It would have scared you senseless.
If only I'd known, but that's kinda what I said in the second post....
It's nice to hear a "good story" as opposed to all of the negative stuff you'll see on here. I'm glad someone represented their Country as well as the Harley crowd well. You go Dutchmen, you just made yourself look good in the eyes of us "Yanks"!
