Picked one up the other day. Figured for $39, how could I go wrong. However I'm a bit confused by the instructions which say these adapters are needed for HD motorcycles: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=98493
I don't see how these adapters would work with 1 inch (25mm) HD axles. Or even why they'd be needed since the included cones are supposed to be good for up to 39mm axles.
Anyone else use this balancer? with/without the adapters.

Haven't used them. 1" = 25.4mm, so I agree with you that the cones should work.
I think it's a catalog error. The title of the Harbor Freight link says Harley DavidsonŽ Motorcycle Wheel Balance Adapter Set, but the description says this adapter lets you balance wheels for DucatiŽ motorcycles.
Anybody here know the axle confiuration for a Duck?
I have never balanced wheels on them as the local tire store gives good deals on tires & (R&R) mounts & balances them for $10/each. I do use my balancer for spinning fork tubes & sliders on inverted forks. A dial indicator/magnetic mount and you are good to go for hours of fun!

Could be. But would hate to get the wheel off and then find out I need an adapter. On the other hand would hate to buy the adapter and find it didn't work either.
I may just take it back and drop the extra money for a Marc Parnes balancer. Least I know it will work with my HD. Looks like a better quality unit also.

You gotta remember who writes/edits(?) those instructions...the conversion from Chinese to English sometimes is a little "iffy"! I bought one of their lifts($75...I couldn't help it) and there was a little assembly to do. Needless to say, the picture was better info than the instructions...
