Exclamation different marques - American riders.

Hey all, just a quick comment here. There have been a lot of people that I know that have gone down in the past year or so. Tensions are pretty high where I am right now.

I have seen people dumping their rides a lot more than normal. Road snakes seem to be everywhere. But even though we may ride different bikes, wear different clothing, and believe different things, we all have one thing in common.

We are all Americans. This is America. (Where I am posting it is) Anyway, when all is said and done, the guy next to you on that sportbike can be that kid from down the street, not some transformer dude bent on taking over the world. And if we let the house get divided, we lose.

Given the current economic situation, we are seeing changes. Companies that were US companies are now being bought up by foreign investors. But they are still of the same general philosphy that they were built on. Heck, Harley just bought an Intalian company, and I hope they are doing ok.

But when all is said and done, we're all cut from the same cloth. I have always thought of Harley as being number one. Plus, we have a lot of age and wisdom out there. We need to be right minded about this situation, remember this is a sport, and that this sport can be dangerous if not approached correctly, with the right frame of mind.

I don't know about all of this other stuff going on. I do know I'd rather be riding. I'd rather not crash while doing so. Start checking your bikes out before the rides. Look underneath. Check your tire pressure. Check your brakes. I found a blown shock on the softail. My front master cylinder is giving me guff too. Others have said that they are experiencing similar problems. So be careful, a little more than normal, maybe.

When you go out, keep an eye on your bikes. Try and avoid strange places. If it feels wrong to you, take a look. Above all, stay alert, and stay alive.

Hope to see you down the road. And remember, those guys on other marques are future Harley riders. We know that from experience.

Ride safe.

I agree with most of that except .. the avoid strange places ... I live for riding to places I have never been. I love riding ... I just take a road sometimes just to see where it goes.
I see a lot of cool stuff that way.

Kind of sounds like a jeez ok Dad speech .
