Just figured I'd mention, the FatBoy wasnt my only ride. I'm still in the saddle and for sure wont leave myself on two feet ever. I've always paid cash for my bikes so there wasnt neccesarily a forced reason to sell it due ot not being able to make payments. I actaully am glad to see her go to some one who deserves a chance to be on a Harley. The guy who bought ehr seems to be a good guy and from his first time seeing the bike loved her. He's got a great bike and I'm for one glad he is on two wheels....especially having come from being on metric and now to HD! thanks for all teh kind words guys.

As for the economy, FTW has a double meaning...no longer just forever two wheels but more in my life F&^% the world. it's a sad day when we get ourselves spread so thin due to meddling in other countries affairs. I say from now on we let them kill themselves or die trying. I'm sick of losing brothers to other countries personal problems. No offense to any other riders on here from other places but America is free, we fought for it and won it. No one helped us as much as we help others so it's time to go back to the old ways and isolate ourselves once again. Hell, GM talks of selling teh Hummer to Russia, China and Japan have our electronics under lock and key as well as our autos, Chrystler is screwed, Ford is dying on the road and Kia is paying people to take their cars.
Go figure, am i bitter that we are in the economic despair we are in, hell fire yes!!! We are the largest debtor country and now we are owed money by countries who cant even afford a friggin loaf of bread. Maybe polotic isnt a topic i should get into....definately not. I've faught for my country, am a disabled vet, been laid off since Feb of thsi year, but I dont belly ache about it to any one...I'll continue letting my ole lady bring home the bacon and be the stay at home dad lol. Happy fourth by the way. Dont try burning my flag adn dont tell me how to fix teh govt when you cant even fix your own bike. My easy fix is to survive as I have done for 40 years.
Ok, done ranting but the political crap gets me mad lol. We spend too much money feeding other countries hungry, clothing other countries poor and building other countries infra structure. Ask me, I've seen it all first hand. Ok.....sorry

I just pray that I can keep my job for a few more years. I lost my last Harley because my wife left me with a ton of bills. After that I never quite recovered. Something always interferred with getting that bike replaced. Well, after two more wives, and 5 children growing up, I'm almost back to a point where I can get a bike again.

My luck, I'll either get laid off, or H-D will go back to doing what they did in the 90's with the year long waiting lists.

Bro hear ya and empathise with you so much. Been there done that too. As for getting to the point you can almost get a HD again...my thoughts:

I began a silent and firm protest against buying from any HD dealership years ago. Right about the time they stopped making the Evo. I dont agree with the "car lot" mentality of what they have become. I hate that 99% of all dealerships refuse to work on bikes older than 2000. I despise the fact that the markup on parts at a dealership is outrageous. I hate that the name HD is synonomous with $100! I said earlier, I've paid cash for every bike I've owned, I dont believe in financing becaue you never trully own it until it's paid off and in todays economy that may take a lifetime. Ok, i better start biting my tongue cause I like thsi forum and the members and would hate to get a bad rep lol.

You're not alone.
Closing my business due to hard times and newly enacted federal laws that make it impossible to compete with bigger companies. And they say its good for America.
Still have my bike but things gotta get better soon.
