No question... just a mention of something I found a curiosity.
In all fairness, I don't recall what the fancy-pancy bikes were. (Since that type of bike really isn't my thing, I didn't really scrutinize as they passed by.) Could have been Goldwings, could have been quiet HD dressers, or some other metrics... don't know.
Just that the bikes that were louder than stock (which happened to be HD's) and had the so-called "Gay Pirates" aboard started to stop to see if I needed help.
At Arizona:
Ah yes, pics.
You see, I have this intention of creating a blog w/pics to share with any/all that may enjoy reading it. Just that life keeps getting in the way.
Ah hah, another interesting observation. It would appear that "Gay Pirates" and loud pipes go together also.
Made a ride to and from California the last week of last year and the first week of this year. I could have sat on the side of the road enjoying the moment in complete serenity, except for the passing cages and trucks. The ride was nearly devoid of the sight of motorcycles. I suppose the frigid temps may have had something to do with the only 1 or 2 bikes I saw going either direction. Wait, did see maybe a half dozen bikes very close to El Paso on the way home.
Maybe it's age, time in the saddle, who knows, but eventually you get to a point in life where it really doesn't matter much at all.If a stranger shows any interest fine,if not that's fine too. Some days I am on top of the world and love everybody, other days (not very often)I just want my own space, what better place to find it than out on our beloved Milwaukee V-Twins.
On a side note, my wife and I were in my truck Friday, heading to the commissary at MCRD Parris Island and got passed by several bikers dressed in the so called "gay pirate" attire, all of them aboard black, basic, stripped down FLH's. My bride, laughing at me, asked me to pull up next to them and ask them if they were "posers" profiling on their "geezerglides". She also pointed out the crossed pistons and skull on the back of their vests.
