Always neutral, except if on down hill and there is nothing I can stick the back wheel against. Don't know of any of my 30+ year HD ridin' buds who leave it in gear, except on the hill thing. Sooner or later, if you park in gear, yer gonna forget. And then HD will start putting on those clutch lever and kickstand switches the metric bike designers so love. I hate crap that exists to protect some dip-stick from himself.
Would you leave your car in neutral while parked? The only thing I use neutral for is pushing the bike or cleaning the spokes.
I always leave the car in neutral- that's what the parking brake is for.
Keep that in mind when your parking brake fails and your car/truck rolls into another one. I've watched that happen, it's kindof funny to see actually (when it' someone elses car either that failed or was hit).
I'm the hypocrit here, as I leave my bike in neutral when I park, except for the hill thing like others have mentioned.
