Extended warranties

A friend of mine just bought an 08 Heritage from an individual. The original owner had purchased an extended warranty when he bought the bike. HD said the warranty is not transferable to my friend. The scoot only has 4200 miles on it. I thought all warranties could be transferred at least one time. Anybody have any knowledge about this?

What does the warranty say? Should be spelled out clearly there.

Whoops! Clarification! My friend says it's a maintenance plan not a warranty extension. Are those not transferable either?

If I am correct the HD warrenty can be transfered but the maintenance ext. cannot.

Call the dealership,I'm pretty sure they are transferable

I would think the pre-paid maintenance agreement should be honored by the selling dealer. After all, the service is for the bike.......not the owner of the bike. I would ask to speak to the owner of the dealership and attempt to negotiate this.
