Discount what us "know it all" guys say... listen to these ladies. THEY'VE BEEN THERE and see it from your gender perspective. Us guys can't relate.

Good luck, be careful, and most of all: HAVE FUN!

Plus, it looks a lot like a Fat Boy!
Here's a pic of it. I thought it looked damn good!

Wow, you dwarf that bike! Fit and comfort can't be overstated. I've seen too many of my buddies wives and girlfriends on tiptoes trying to handle too-big bikes because that's what their men wanted them to ride.

Does you local HD dealer rent bikes? I rented 3 of them and put 300+ miles on each of them before I made my choice. Buyer remorse is expensive, especially if you buy a new bike.

That's a common misperception about sportsters....they aren't that low because the center of gravity is high. A deluxe has a much lower feel than a Sportster.

Me too. It's sad...the guy thinks it's a reflection of him or something if his wife can't ride a big harley right out of the gate.

Above all else, you need to be comfortable on whatever you choose. Your much better off starting on a bike that is too small than a bike that is too big. If you outgrow it quickly, so what....you're not dead.

Superglide with 11" rear shocks and a front lowering kit. (also need a lower kick stand).

Then a windscreen and some saddlebags. and maybe some forward pegs.

Low center of gravity, easy to toss around. The power of a stock 96incher is fine. as long as you show the throttle some respect.

Like said above, start with a small bike that is comfortable. Go through the MC training course, and then work your way up. Congrats on the decision. You're going to love it.

Don't know your stature, so we sure can't tell you if a bike if going to be to tall or short for ya, but my wife's bike is a Deluxe. She is only 5'4" and 115 lbs but has no problem maneuvering that bike around. I take that back, she sometimes needs help backing into a spot . We did put a reach seat on it for her that dropped the already lowest HD seat hight another 1.5 inches.
