My Dad had a term for welding "like that". Here's a pic of THAT term:
BIRD CHIT !!!!!!
And it usually holds, jus' like it's name!!!!
My kids could weld better than that at 8 yrs old.
NOTE to self: CHARGE $4000. They'll PAY IT!!!!

Who ever did that One thing for sure, they are not a welder, we called that bubble gum weld.
We once had a new washer come in to one of our plants with welds like that and it didn't even make it to the department before we had to start fixing it before it fell apart.

What scares me about that is that from 30 feet away, it probably looked good. The first pic had me thinking that it wasn't too bad. Some of the ideas the builder had were good, but NONE of them was implemented properly. What baffles me is why the guy has to ask for his money back. I would have never paid the dude. If he wanted money up front, I would have asked to see an example of some of his work.
