Default Sticky Grips

When I ride for long periods in the heat, my HD grips begin to get very sticky. When they get sticky, it is almost like dry rot and it rubs black stuff all over my hands. Is there something the rubber can be treated with to keep this from happening?

I have the "nostalgic" grips from Harley and they do the same thing. I had a pair of tan leather work gloves I wore for a while. They turned black real quick. I'm not sure what to do about it either.

Wear gloves. Not being a smart alec, it's just a good solution. If you don't want to wear gloves, then change out your grips -- maybe get knurled metal.

Change grips. Nothing you can do.

Leather won't be as bad rubber. Think about most steering wheels in new cars now. Just keep them clean with a good leather cleaner, and you shouldn't have too many issues.

I'll post a link to some cool ones when I get home. I have it bookmarked on that computer, not this one.

That'd be great. Noticed you're in Tulsa. Took a cruise up 66 to Miami and back to OKC this week. Awesome ride.

I have the same problem but quickly decided sticky is better than slippery.
