Default leather jacket

what have you all found to be the best jacket to wear for general use during riding, including durability, warmth, comfort, cost, etc? Where did you purchase it and what brand is it?

I'm from Louisiana, so it's hot here, 9 mo's out the year. I bought a pretty nice long sleeve jacket from leatherup.com. I was leary of the quality, but when I recieved it,...WOW,...has a nice plush line thats removable,..very good quality>price.
I think I had paid around $69 for it. Good to about 30 degrees, but any colder than that you'd need more.

heres the link to what I bought http://www.leatherup.com/product.asp?pf_id=1700

They have good prices,...we buy our boots there,....Harley Davidson brand,.....half of what the dealership wants.

I have a leather jacket with zip out liner I wear most of the year. If it's colder than or a long cold day I wear an FXRG suit with electric gloves/socks.

heres the link to what I bought http://www.leatherup.com/product.asp?pf_id=1700
Just checked them out. Prices look good. How is the service/returns?

I never had a problem with them. and I've bought about a grand worth of stuff with them. They ship quick,..and seem to be on the up&up.

I've had a jacket from Fox creek leather for a couple months now. Great quality, lifetime warranty and best of all- made in the USA. It was comfortable right out of the box. It's HEAVY, but the vents make it not too bad, I wore it a few days ago, 90 degrees, but the the vents ket it bearable when moving. If I get chaps I'll definitely be purchasing from Fox Creek.

Downside is they are a bit pricey. It was around $400.

H-D Nevada jacket. It's made for warm weather riding, has front and back vents and all kinds of hidden pockets. Keeps me comfortable up to 80*. It's pricy, $460., but worth it to me as I plan to keep it forever plus H-D leather jackets are designed with riders in mind, i.e, fit, comfort, durability.

FirstGear makes my leather jacket, has a nice thin liner for colder weather. Also has vents for cooler weather, tho I'd be crazy to wear it in 80 degree or above weather. You can put in armor if you really want.

The best feature? It's got a zippered section on both chest portions that holds a ton of crap if you want, all in small built in pockets. It's the swiss army of jackets. And it looks good to boot!

Can't remember the name but I believe it's the FirstGear Scout.

Scott:
I see you live up in Minnesota. If I was buying ONE jacket and I intended to keep it for a loooooong time, invest in a FXRG jacket. Or maybe one of those Firstgear do-it-all jackets.....ballistic with multiple liners. Both offer high quality and versatility.
